Welcome to ECRTS 2021

The information below walks you through this year’s implementation of ECRTS 2021 as a virtual conference and contains all relevant links.

Virtual conference participation builds around two/three pillars:

Below is further information on how to connect.

Survey

  • To ask a question, type “Q” in the Zoom chat.
(We do not use Zoom’s “raise hands” feature.)
  • Please turn on your video when asking a question (if possible).
  • The session chair will tell you when to go ahead and ask your question.
  • Hold your questions until the Q&A session at the end of each talk.

Wonder – Socialize in wonder

When connecting to wonder.me for the first time, you are asked to take or upload a picture of yourself (or one that represents you). Afterwards you enter an area where you can walk around. Once you enter a circle around other people, you join their video call and talk to them. The [+/-] buttons on the left-hand side allow you to zoom in and out of the area and to get a better overview of what is happening.

The wonder.me interface provides an option to “lock” a circle, which makes it impossible for others to join. Please use this feature very sparingly, if at all: ECRTS is inclusive. So please keep circles generally open and welcome people into your discussion. We trust you have other means for private conversations. After all, we now know conferencing tools much better than we ever wanted.

The link to wonder is here: https://www.wonder.me/r?id=681fde2d-d04a-46e1-8204-a928a47cb862

When switching to wonder.me, please leave Zoom open, but please make sure you are muted in Zoom. This way you are sure not to miss any of the main program.

Discord

ECRTS’21 does not have a dedicated instant messaging platform. However, conference attendees are encouraged to check out the new community-wide Real-Time Systems Discord server.
