Open Access
ECRTS 17 will apply an open access publication model in collaboration with LIPIcs – Leibniz International Proceedings in Informatics established in cooperation with Schloss Dagstuhl – Leibniz Center for Informatics.
The paper selection procedures and quality control will remain unchanged, but accepted papers will be made public for access without additional cost.
Summary
Motivation
We believe that the conference serves the research community and the public best when results are accessible to the largest audience, without restrictions, .e.g, not behind paywalls.
We also believe that research contributions should not be restricted by the financial situation of authors, e.g., as in substantial sums required by for-profit publishers for "open access".
Scientific Quality
The change from for-profit publisher to non-profit open access has no impact on the procedures for paper reviewing and selection, and thus scientific quality control, will remain unchanged.
The acceptance ratio has been typical around 25%.
Open Access Provider
We work with LIPIcs – Leibniz International Proceedings in Informatics , established in cooperation with Schloss Dagstuhl – Leibniz Center for Informatics. It is non-profit and a member of the Leibniz Association and receives joint federal and state funding in Germany.
LIPIcs will guarantee accessibility and availability of ECRTS proceedings in the long term.
Proceedings will be made available:
- Each volume is published on the publication server DROPS (http://drops.dagstuhl.de).
Each article is published under a Creative Commons CC BY license (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/). The authors retain their copyright.
- Each volume is assigned an ISBN.
- Each article is assigned a DOI and a URN.
- All LIPIcs volumes are indexed in the dblp computer science bibliography; see http://dblp.dagstuhl.de/db/series/lipics/ Furthermore, LIPIcs volume data are provided to Scopus and have been indexed there.
- The digital archiving of each volume is done in cooperation with the Deutsche Nationalbibliothek/German National Library (http://www.dnb.de).
Publication Fees
The conference fee of authors of accepted papers covers the cost of publication and keeping it open access. There are no additional charges.
Paper Formats
LIPics has its own style for paper formats. Proceedings of other conferences can be found here.
Authors of accepted papers must submit the LaTeX source code for their camera-ready papers (this is required by LIPics). The version that appears in the official proceedings will be built from the submitted sources. This serves to be able to provide papers public in non proprietary format in the long term.
